Right off the bat I can tell you the sound of the M177 is just... different. The M157 is a rowdy, throaty, angry V8 especially with exhaust work. The M177 sounds modernized, civilized. Definitely prefer the sound of the M157. Overall, the M177 is just better. Power is instant and huge, I can easily break all four wheels loose from a stop where the M157 was laggy. Power band has something for everyone in the M177.

Haven’t driven the 4.0L yet, don’t think I’ve seen or heard one either.

Your color combo on the w218 was exactly what I wanted just got sick of waiting/looking.
