CLS63S AMG
C218 speaker sizes/depth

Hopefully one of y'all can help me out- I'm redoing the audio system in my 2014 CLS63, and could use some info on speaker sizing. From what I gathered, the midbass is 6.5", midrange is 2.75", does that sound right? Does anyone know how much depth you have to work with? In a perfect world, I'd love to make custom rings and go with an 8" midbass, if it'll fit behind the door. I'll be disconnecting the rears (except for addl subs) and running 3-way active off of a mObridge 8.1.1. I assume the stock tweeter has a cap filter, and it's powered off the same circuit as the 2.75" midrange, correct?

Any advice on sizing is appreciated! I'll try to log this build for future reference, as I've been unable to find a centralized source of decent info regarding upgrading to 3way active on this car.

Thanks!

i will be following this thread, closely. and i may actually add to it. i've been itching to pull the trigger on a sub enclosure where the spare tire goes, but now...it sounds like my midrange speakers in the front door may be toast. the HK system really lacks ***** to begin with. this might be the push i need to just go for a full system....
