There are a few threads covering repeated failures of the bushing in the 212/218 control arm. Every instance I read was driver's side and my car is in for a second replacement after 28 months & 3,000 miles.

Does anyone make a higher quality bushing that can be press fit into the existing control arms?

 

I'm dealing with a similar issue with added extra crackling sound when I turn my wheel.

 

Look for neoprene replacements too, rather than just a match for OEM rubber. Better under load and no noticeable increase in noise or harshness.
