Burnout
Hi lads,
Have a 13 CLS63 AMG. On the weekend, i tried to do a standstill burnout for my mates wedding. Had ESP fully off and in manual mode.
every time the burnout would start and the shift into second would about to initiate the gearbox gear indicator on the cluster disappears and I have no more gear. Can't select any gear including reverse unless I turn the car off and on again.
tried doing a burnout twice and kept throwing the car out of gear.
im not sure if its the MCT transmissions not liking it, or I must be doing something wrong.
have anyone experienced this?

I've only done a few hard starts and burnouts in mine, and it's always kinda awkward,not as bad as yours though. The MCT was very new for Merc/AMG in the E63/SL63/CLS63, I suspect it was not really dialled in in this first iteration, and if you have any existing issues, this will really expose them. It took me ages to even get race mode to work, mine is super fussy on engine temp/brake pressure/steering angle.
Maybe get a merc specialist to do a diagnostic on any issues in the conductor plate etc, and maybe bring the next tranny service forward. Merc are always revising the plate and its programming across their transmissions, maybe a newer one could be an improvement.

I have done these in my car, although it's been a while since I have. I would sit heavy on the brake and step on the gas pedal and sometimes it took a few seconds of spinning to get the smoke cooking.
