Buying a 2013 CLS63 AMG - What to look out for?
I'm looking to buy a red 2013 CLS63 AMG. There's one listed in my country for 23k USD (car prices are quite low in my country) with 30447 Miles, 3 Owners. The car is already tuned Stage 2 (conservative tune around a claimed 600hp correct me if I'm wrong in saying it's convservative) with a catless downpipe and has frequent maintenance at a high performance shop that I know of and rep.
After doing some research and talking with some other tuning companies, they kept urging me about the following problems:
Rod Bearings
Head Bolts
Valve Train
I was wondering how much of a problem will those be at this milege or if its not a milege issue. I've seen some horror stories of full engine replacement and I do NOT want to go through that (no one does) so I'm asking if this is still a viable platform to buy and build to 700hp crank. The tuner keeps urging me to get them done, but in the back of my head I wonder if this is just a way to get me to spend unnecessary money. I will be getting a Prepurchase Inspection and updating this thread. I also thought headbolts were mainly a pre 2012 thing? Correct me if I am wrong. I also will be selling this car before it 65,000miles as I want a newer car but this in the mean time will be fun.
Please let me know any advice.
Thanks guys.
