New Engines?
I'm thinking of buying a CLS55 but I don't want to get screwed like I did with my 99 E55. Where the engines changed significantly ...
Any word on when a new engine is going to be out?

it will be an engine next year, and something else the following, maybe different tail lights or better wood options, always going to be one little change the following model year that irks you\us. why delay getting yourself in this fine automobile for little issues like that? you will put it off forever if you worry about the next model year. on the lighter side, think of it as having one more enjoyable year in your CLS if u buy now

I would wait. The new engine sounds like a significant improvement, besides they hype will have faded by then and you may avoid 1st year glitches. It's easy for someone who has already purchased a CLS to say, "Go for it!", but I'd be pissed if I dropped over $70k only to learn that I got the old motor. To me, the difference is akin to the change from the old V12 to the biturbo V12s MB offers today. Big difference. Short wait. Time is on your side.

It's very similiar to what happened with last years Kompressor SLK and this years new V8. Mercedes specs the old car .1 quicker to 60
Then again (I'm gonna catch heat for this), before i'd pay $100k for a loaded CLS55, I'd opt for a CPO CL55. It's twice the car, it's more comfortable, has more standard features, more room in front, looks like same amount of room in back and, IMO, better looking.
