You dont have to lower the car, however, if you want to get rid of the extra gap between the tire and the fender, then yes you could lower it.

Many people (those who dont know better IMO) put rim upgrades on their cars and leave them at stock height. Its a perfect example of what not to do if you want it to look right. Drop that car ASAP, if you put rims on it. In fact, drop it anyway. Not only will it look a hundred times better, but it will lower the center of gravity thus, helping the car to handle better. Good luck.

Lowering the car is the first thing I did to my CLS55 and it made all the difference. I am actually waiting on my rims, 20x9 and 20x11 HRE 945R's! The great thing about the CLS (or any MB with Airmatic DC) is that lowering is so simple, you dont have to remove a single lug nut! Its all electronic. Mine was lowered through Star Diagnostics by Steve with MBenzNL. It was fast, cheap and yielded awesome results, what could be better?? You can see pics of my car in the CLS55 Picture thread.

The car also handles noticeably better over stock settings once its lowered which is another great thing.

If you don't mind me asking where did you find the Radenergie R10 rims for the best price? Love the look of those rims on the CLS. Also if it is not too much how expensive were they?

how much should the car be lowered to look nice, but not slammed? i'm gonna have my car lowered by star diagnostic. i'm thinking 1" front and 1/2 to 3/4" in the rear. more or less?
