It looked to me like in the 3rd video that the CLS had won the race and hit his brakes before the M passed him.

this is more representative of the real life applications of both cars.

CLS55 easier to launch and lots of torque

M5: Need a skillful driver to launch correctly, but highend speed is king.


I wonder what those the M5 board say about these videos?

wrong sport setting? Euro or US launch control, how many miles on the vehicle, what was the RPM launch, production date, ect....


I have not doubt the M5 is a great vehicle and I would love to own one. But I rather have a CLS first... so much sexier.

Why would they pit a $90k car against a $180k car? Frankly 65 series cars are a waste. They're all engine and no handling. Top gear ran the heavier CL65 around their track and it was pathetic. The M5 and the CLS55 easily beat it. If I were spending that kind of money I'd be looking at an F430.
