Traction!!!
If you are looking for just straight line traction then BF Goodrich Drag Radials (not really designed for every day driving). If you don't mind buying tires every 4,000 miles and want a tire that is road race oriented then use the YOKOHAMA ADVAN AO48 (comes in only 18" or less Wheel sizes). Add either of these tires to LSD and you have some seriously enhanced traction. -

When I had to replace my contin on my E55 I tried the infamous PS2. They were very soft and comfortable riding. When I floored it, the traction light blinked just liked before even though I went from 265 to 275 in the rears. So I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting total better traction. When its been 17K and I just replaced the rears to BFGoodrich G-Force. They are older tire design and not the newer ones like G-Force KD or KDW or KDWS. But they were cheap. The tires ride harder, but the traction so far is very good. Better than the PS2.
PS2 - gentle on the throttle then floor it and the traction light stick blinks
g-Force - gentle on the throttle then floor it, no traction light
Maybe my car has gottem slower. I know all the ratings on the PS2. This is what I experience. I have only put on 500 miles on the new tires, but have been totally satisfied with the traction and the price.
Just my experience. Too bad they don't make lots of difference sizes as the tire goes to 19 and 20 inch.
