CLS550 or CLS55???

I think i know everyones response already, but just want to see...

I ordered my CLS550 about a month ago and should be here in about 2 months. Over the weekend i visited a couple dealership and ran across a few used 06 CLS55 for sale. Pricing is about 8-12k more then the new 07 CLS550.

I am really considering cancelling my order and jump on the AMG bandwagon. Your thoughts??? shall i stick with the 550 with the new engine or go with the 55?

probably a dumb question to ask in the room, but oh well.... let it rip!

2022 AMG SL 63. 2021 APR stage 1 Audi SQ7.
55

I looked at both.
No disrespect but if you can afford it, get the 55.
The alcantara, exclusivity and the sheer power is worth the difference.

55 is much better but will be much more difficult to sell when 63 amg will be on the market.
Same for the 500 and the 550 but your choice was on the newest...

55 as well, and I don't think it will ever be difficult to sell a CLS55, these cars are going to continue being the preferred choice for people who want to modify their cars.
The 63 is going to be a high-compression motor with a limited amount of power available through aftermarket bolt-on products. As for the 55 well we all know how much more power is available through the aftermarket...........lots! Get the 55 if you have the werewithal and enjoy 516 lb-ft of torque!

If you're going to keep the car for years and years (not somone who changes every 3-4 years)...then CLS55 all the way
....if you do change cars every 3-4years, you probably have enough money to not worry too much about the resale...so CLS55 again

I have a 500 which is the family car. No regrets. If this is your only vehicle and can afford the money (pay cash), then the 55 may be a better choice. This is my sixth benz I have owned over the years and I can tell you that resale will suck more with the 55 than the 500, if there is any concern.

Good choice and if you ever feel the need for more power...........there is plenty to be had!
