Unfortunately, it is not a direct plug in. The factory wires for BiXenons include an extra wire for the leveling function, which I understand is a government requirement. To wire it correctly, I am told requires a hook up to a controller in the rear of the car which takes much time. The dealers I talked to about doing it on my S430 said they would not do it. There have been posts of others who do it on their cars but it takes some modifications and the leveling feature will not work.

In the US all cars with halogen headlights come WITHOUT manual headlight levelling feature (from the inside of the car) which is something the rest of world cars come equiped with from factory so APPARENTLY levelling your headlights is not as much of a big deal in the US then it is anywhere else .

The bi xenon headlights can be installed in your car BUT you will have to get the car coded to XENON PRESENT as the lights will only FLICKER when they aren't coded right...besides the missing auto levelling feature and headlight washer system (another feature that comes from factory on cars with bi xenons) it is all possible without too much problems.

I have aftermarket HIDs and they are much better looking and brighter than factory xenons; however, they still do not have the cool look that the factory xenon headlights have when the lights are turned off. If you want to go much cheaper and get a real nice color, go with HIDs.
