Has everyone removed the plastic on the sides by the rear tires? I was going to get the car detailed and figured it was time to have it removed.

Why would you remove it? It guards that section from road nicks.

Mine are starting to discolor as well... but without new ones to replace them I would leave them on, they provide much needed protection.

There is a TSB on this to change it with a new version. I had it done free under warranty, but a few months later they started to fade and get a yellow tint to it.

Mine turned yellow as well, so I replaced it. It was very noticeable on white

with a black car you can't really notice, but I was concerned that when it got detialed that i would have the white lines around it. I had my car wahed to day and there was a white cls500 and the decals looked yellow

I guess it depends on the color.

I ordered the 'headlight' kit and installed it on my car and it worked great. Keeps the headlights looking like brand new for as long as you have the car and you can't tell its even on.

had the car washed today and it looks like there is a scratch. I think as the car gets washed more the plastic keeps taking a beeting. i'm taking them off next week so i can have the car detailed.
