Exclamation RennTech

Does anyone have experience with RennTech engine upgrades for a 2006 CLS 55 or E 55? My first impulse is the power increase is well worth the money but it is not clear the if the engine modifications causes problems or creates more heat / issues? Doe anyone have experience with RennTech? If so, what performace changes did you make and what was your experience?

Thanks

U could try contacting AdamG he's the go to guy as far as Renntech is concerned for me in the bay area not sure of ur location, yea there's a couple of dealers out here in cali that will do renntech mods without voiding warranty so i'm guessing they must be pretty confident in them.

You might also look into Kleemann Mods as I found them less in price than Renntech with similar performance stats. Also I believe Kleemann is made and tested in Germany. My performance shop recommended it over Renntech and they do quite a few cars. Just my 2 cents.

With all things equal, as we could argument about who is better, why you should buy kleemann over RENNtech or MKB or Brabus…

I feel one of the most important factors is who is actually doing the installation! Do you feel confident with your tuner doing the required modifications for you desired upgrade. For the Kleemann do you want your installer to weld your headers? If not then you’ll have to go with a more plug and play set of headers…

I believe the main point should be who do you feel the comfortable installing your performance modifications, all of the above tuners provide excellent customer support and service.

My tuner is also a good friend and while he is authorized for both, he strongly recommended Kleeman. I gave me a few points on why. One being how Kleemann's mods are made and tested in Germany and have to meet a set of regulated quality standards. This was confirmed by two others in the bus as well but I still do not know it to be fact. Second was price and it doesn't take extensive research to check that out. My tuner actually makes more margin on the Renntech but still steered me to Kleeman.

All in all I think both are probably very close and to be honest since I went with the Renntech wheels (another high recommendation for strength and weight) I was inclined to go with their mods to match but didn't under advice and to save a few thousand to boot.

I put 18k miles on my cls55. Had the Kleemann K-1. Very happy, never a problem.

Yes, I could tell a difference in power.

The mercedes dealer I just got my SL from is also RENNtech dealer.
I did spent a bit extra for the RENNtech mods but, the dealer covers the car under factory warranty.

I know more and more Mercedes dealers are taking on aftermarket tuners. They make even more money, so why not? I did some research and found several MB dealerships that were Kleemann or RENNtech dealers.

IMO the biggest thing with mods, is your tech/shop. Find a good one.

thank you for the input guys!
here in texas we have RSI in houston that does Kleemann products. They come highly recommended by Kleemann and also specialize in vipers. I will use them as there are no shops in San Antonio now. Only problem is it will be hard to go there and not have them slap a Paxton supercharger on my srt-10 viper as well

From what I;ve heard so far kleeman is the best quality and value. Droping my baby off in 4 days to get K4, LSD, and new transmission computer installed. ...Haven't been sleeping since I made the decision..can't wait. Maybe someone with K4 can tell us what its like???
