New CLS63 - Car Hesitation
While I am a newbee to the board, I have owned an '06 CLS500 for about 8 months.
About three weeks ago, I was at the dealership picking up my CLS500 after being serviced and the dealer had a CLS63 coming off the truck. I was told that the car was supposed to be the first 63 to be delivered, but the order was cancelled by the purchaser.
Being at the right place at the right time, I decided to trade in the 500 for the 63.
Up to this point, the car had been amazing to drive, although I had been driving within the break in period parameters.
I had been anxiously waiting to get through the 1000 mile break in period so I can really put the car to the test. That mark occured this morning on my way to work.
As soon as I got on the freeway, I was getting ready to open her up. I pressed on the accelerator ------ instead of taking off, the engine shuttered, and began to loose power. The check engine light then came on.
I quickly pulled over and shut off the car. I opened the gas tank to let it air out (just in case there was some sort of pressure issue). I put the cap back on and tried to start the car again. It started, but the engine shook, the light came on, and I quickly shut it off.
The car has since been towed to MB and they are currently trying to source the problem. 1014 miles on it, I hope this is not the start of something more serious.
Anyone have any issues like this?

Wow all I can say is that really sucks for you. Looks like Mercedes has not, in fact, shored up all of their build quality issues in their new engines.
I never want to hear about Bimmers breaking down again guys!!

you had problems with your 545 and the new cls63!
I feel your pain, nothing more aggravating than car troubles, especially when they are high(er) end autos!!
I had my cls55 for 4 months now and no problems. My past car was a cts-v, and was a P.O.S.

The 545 problems were more nuisance type stuff - window rattles, Idrive issues, phone issues. Recurring stuff that they could just never nail down. I had absolutely no issues with the CLS500.

Sorry to learn about your car. I got my cls63 4four days ago. only 350 miles up to mow. Will take me few hundre additional miles before I will give it a seriuos test . I will inform you the result with my car preformance probebly by the end of next week. Up to know, it's a dream car to drive. I hope it will continue this way. P.S. Are you guy aware that this 2007 model is equiped with a "black Box" recording all aspects of engine activities including speeding? No doubt within a year or two speeding tickets will arrive by male withought any police man ever stopping us. Conected to our GPS and TeleAid
the info can be transmited to law enforcement at will. Not Funny.

I think I actually read that most cars have the "black box" installed and have done so for the past five years or so. It is only recently, though, that manufacturers are beginning to tell people about them. Right now, they do not have much use because the laws have not caught up to the technology, but eventually, police will be able to use them after accidents, etc. etc........

Hey MHK was that you on the side of 195 this morning about 9am Black CLS63?
Concerning the "black box" issue and our right to decide what happens with its information, you guys should consider joining the National Motorists Association. This issue is one of the main things they are trying to deal with in washington at the moment. www.motorists.org

right now those black boxes are not a problem as they only record 10 seconds worth of data - then write over the old data for the next 10 seconds.
mostly to be used to see what condidtions were before an "event" that such as engine failure or accident data etc.....
so if your traveling at 150moh and kill someone in a crash that data can be used to send you down the river- so to speak!

If you call roadside assistance my wife, who came to keep me cool while I waited for the flatbed, then yes!
MB roadside assistance was actually very responsive and the dealer is all over the it.
I do live on the beach, you?

Just south of 52nd on Alton.
I wasn't sure about the roadside usually they are all painted up but I thought it might be new or something. Hopefully they get it fixed soon, what dealer are you using?
