Activating AUX input...

I recently installed a rear view camera, but can't get it to work because AUX input isn't activated. Can anyone tell me how to activate it?
Thanks

I don't think the AUX is for video, its just for the Audio input that is wired to the glove box. Where did you mount the rear view camera?

The comand unit itself doesn't have video inputs, I believe you need something like a TV tuner or a video switcher to give it a input. The AUX on mine controls the Ipod, which has a audio input in the back of the comand. I'm confused, if you had a stereo shop or someone competent enough to install a camera, wouldn't they know how to wire the system for video?

Let's see pics of the camera.

Here's a post showing the TV tuner, and how it gives you the inputs on the comand.

I also called the dealer and they said that one of the AUX is meant for a camera. And the guy installing all this stuff is really compitent, so I am sure he knows what he is talking about. (He also installed a state of the art custom stereo system in the trunk) Also in the manual it says that if you have problems activating AUX you need the dealer to activate it through the computer,,,maybe that is the only way this could be done.
My car is still in the shop and will be ready in 10 days,, will take pics then.

....just spoke to the installer again,,he says that the camera was working already, but then he disconnected the battery, and when he connected it again, AUX got locked.

Sorry to be annoying but I dont buy into this. AUX is only for sound. AUX1 and AUX2 are only seen in cars with a TV tuner (Euro spec)

What your installer is using is the NAV-TV hacking kit which steals the signal from the navigation drive as a means of camera input.

What we are all talking about is the Mercedes based solution which works perfectly in Euro spec cars.

Whether the AUX is locked or not depends on how NAV-TV designed the system (which is not my preferred system).

It is not locked. There is no such thing. You need to reset the optical ring because one of your control units is crashed.

If you have a digital tuner (option code 863) then there is also a specific connection to the tuner for reversing camera.
