Used 2006 CLS55/E55 pricing
Will someone tell me why a used 2006 CLS55 is roughly 16K more than an E% with roughly the same mileage and options? Are the exclusivetivity and look worth that much? Brand new, the delta is only 10K...

i think just supply and demand for where you're looking. SF area seems to be much more than other parts of the country. obviously there's more E's out there made per year than the CLS, so that's a good starting explanation. also, there's 4 yrs of the new E55 (5 if you count 07's) vs. only 2 yrs of the CLS55's. i've never driven these, but i do know the CLS looks is still quite controversial for many so we'll see how well they do over the long-term.

although 1200 CLS55 made may seem quiet exclusive vs. the E55's production #'s, this may not tell the entire story.
i used to own both 928S4 and also the SL600 which were very exclusive and limited in #'s at that time. however, the supply side only answers one of the questions. after all, there are very few S600's and CL600's made vs. their V8 brothers and yet w/in 3-4 yrs, the $30k+ premium gap almost closes. this is the reason why only time will tell whether the lower supply and exclusivity will tell a different iniital story vs. long-term.
two other factors, it'll be interesting see what happens when the CLS63 and its engine gets more popular(ck out the prices of new 06 S65's for $70k MSRP discount vs. $190k 07's, both equally exclusive, same engine), and also how the V8 kompressors cars hold up over 100k+ miles.
