Fishy story??
I am looking at buyning this CLS55 from a local dealer. Only has 12XX miles, the saleslady said it's "pre-owned" but would qualify for new car lease. They CPO the car, and dropped $9K off asking price in a drop of a hat.
I ran CARFAX and here's what it shows:
Sold at auction
in Florida
Listed as
a manufacturer vehicle at 1184 miles in Florida.
Is this a lemon buy-back car? Anyone helps??? Vahim??...

Low miles..... Used by Mercedes..... Sold at auction from Florida.... Low price.......
Does it have gold calipers? Sounds like an AMG Challenge car (Homestead)..........
Does it have any sticker residue on the windshield? If you wet the top of the windshield and can read 2006 AMG Challenge or Mobile 1, I think you are a winner!

At Homestead (and also at Lime Rock) they didnt let us run any of the open lapping hard enough to turn the calipers gold. RPDE defintiely were way more restricitve operators comapred to AMCI (2005) where every AMG there had gold calipers and hairline cracks on the rotors.
I much preferred the AMCI group and hope they get the AMG gig back for 06 - I wont do it again if RPDE has it for '07
but your thoughts on this vehicle echo mine exactly - just check for teh sticker residue

Forgive my ignorance. I don't know what you guys mean?
I am assuming that you guys are being tongue and cheeks and are telling me that the car has been driven hard- really hard at a track proving ground? I'd truly appreciate enlightenment.

Sorry, yes....
The AMG Challenge is a multi day track event where the cars legs get stretched quite far by a whole bunch of people......
As long as the car is still under full warranty that should cover you.
Joking aside, the cars actually fair these events very well.
