Just got back from Brabus and ...

Okay so my office is like right next door to the Brabus shop in Newport so I dropped in to ask about the lowering module. LOL they wanted $2200 which is ridiculous considering he told me how it works and quote:
"basically it tricks the car into thinking it's going 60 so it lowers to the point it does at that speed and stays there"
So they basically have a chip that flips a bit in the computer and they want $2200 to splice a wire and pop that in there. yeah okay.

But he did give me some fresh off the press news on the 63 mods available as of next week.
New ECU + Filters + CATs for a total of 545HP at the wheel somehow which will cost you, are you ready for this? Hang on to your seats, $18K!!

They had a CLS K8 on the lot which looked absolutely sick.
I have decided that all I want done is:

1) Lowering the car using some sort of adjustable kit
2) Tint the clear (center) part of the tail lights
3) get the Brabus spoiler (three piece)
4) Possible wheels upgrade
5) Possible ECU upgrade when a good one is available

In that order.

Do you have a link to this? What is the cost and can I install myself or do I have to do it professionally?

Nevermind got it. I am guessing this would take me 1 day to figure out how to develop a module on my own given how simple it is ... but I'll opt for a group buy of the Renntech module anyway, See my other post

my brother lowered his cls 63 for around 500 bucks through RBtechla.com
This guy has been a mercedes technician for 15 years, and about 8 years ago, he became a mercedes tuner, he has a big shop in downtown LA and can do it all for you there.
Who cares what kind of module it is, they all work the same

I got the renntech elm from Adam, and installed it myself took about 20min. I did extend the harness for ease of install and I also went with quick connects so I could remove it and put it back to stock in about 5min. I adjusted it in every mode so I could see what i wanted and then put it away. Some people are doing remote installs so you can adjust when ever you want but with me once it was set I was not going to monkey with it any more. Very simple and easy install.

I believe that Adam's price installed is $1250 for the Renntech module. (The Kleeman module is about $1800, which I had on my CLS 55.) I just had it installed, without the extension (set it and forget it). They did a great job; I had it lowered about 25 mm and kept the same rake as the orginal. The raising feature still works, and I use it before entering my garage or parking in a lot which has concrete stops. Since I am not mechanically inclined, I was happy to pay Adam's price.

545hp at the wheels for $18k is a bargain for a benz. Are you sure its at the wheels? I dont think thats possible with the mods you listed. 545 at the wheels is 680 at crank.

Yeah actually I do agree with that. I am pretty sure that it's at the crank and he said at the wheel. You'e right 680 at the crank would be worth $18K easy but for those three items I would say $8K is more like it.

Yeah thats way too high for the ecu tune, filters and cats. I would say even if you got a renntech or kleemann tune for like 2k, filters cant be more then 500.00 and that seems high, and you can get 100 cell race cats for like 380.00 pr, thats what it should cost. Even at 8k you should get full exhaust with headers, ecu tune, filters and the elm. Keep looking and dont forget to keep us posted.

That shop is 100% the wost place to take your car. Anyone who goes there and believes that we are a mb turner bs is a real clown. All they do is make boot leg airbox's, lower cars very poorly and sell ugly wheels.

I know they have blown up a motor or three and causes countless destroyed suspensions.

Stay away from RBtech at all costs.

BRABUS is too expensive (cost/value ratio) compared to other not lesser tuners like kleeman.
