No Kompressor In Cls 63 Amg
I Was Told By My Local Benz Dealer, There Is No Kompressor In The Cls 63 Amg. I Wonder What Type Of Mods Will Be Offer For Cls 63beside An Upgraded Pulley Kit.
For Cls 55, Renntech Offer A Upgrade Pulley Kit, Ecu And Carbon Fiber Air Box For $9k. will Give You Up To 529 Hp.

A pulley for the 63 would not do anything given that there is no kompressor. There are ecu flashes for the 63's and most claim gains of 30hp/40ftlbs.Renntech Stage 5 for the 55 motors also adds ss headers and larger throtle body- 574hp- $16K.

I'm working on getting cold air intake into the E55 engine bay. the only spot I can find without major work is through the floor pan. That will work, except on really dirty roads (which I rarely go on).
AMG_55: I need to hook up with you at your bro's shop. we may can get some serious craziness on there!!

And they can keep begging. lol. j/k
You're correct though, you want to be careful what you say about 55 vs. 63, there's a lot of money riding on that question.
One thing I love about my 63 which the 55 just couldn't match was that deep grunt sound at idle. The 55 had more of a whine about it. When I fire the 63 up every morning it roars like it's been sitting there all night just waiting for my thumb to press the GO button.

The 5.5 was still an AMG creation they just shared the development costs and expertise with Mercedes. It was not the AMG just slapped a Kompressor on a Mercedes Design.
They built them the same way that the 6.3 is now assembled in Affalterbach.

i prefer the 6.2 b/c i enjoy driving in the corners and b/c its much more linear its much easier to really push the car.
however....

The 55 is the ONLY model year EVER in the life of CLS production that'll have the blown engine. So it'll always be special. Will that make it a collector's item? Hard to say but it is what it is and there will ALWAYS be someone looking for it down the line just due to its uniqueness and scarcity.
The 63 is going to be in 07, 08, etc... model years until it gets a bump in displacement and power, or 2 turbo's slapped on it, then where will it be? the scrawniest kid in the family and who would want that?? Of course that's conjecture, but one thing is certain and that it is not a 1 year special.
Performance wise I'd say the 63 will be faster because of the gearing, and less torque. The 55 has crazy torque for the chassis and gears so that works against it, and in the curves the linear power of the 63 will proves out better as well. But to me, the 55 is (again) unique, it's like the earliest of the muscle cars, huge engine in a falcon chassis, huge engine in a tempest chassis, a teenager on steriods will too much muscles. The 63 goes the ways of overall refined performance, and there are a plethora of choices in the market for that genre.
Interior aesthetics and quality, nothing beats an Audi.

Which one of those is in a CLS body? Which one of those has 1 year in its production line.
Did I really say the 55 ENGINE is unique like how you chosed to read it? oh plzzz go back and learn to read.

I'd say that with the volume of cars in production there is about a snowballs chance in hell that any of these cars will ever be a "collector" item. I could see how maybe the IWC version would be somewhat of a collectors item but get real man, this isn't a collector car. It's an ordinary sedan/coupe hybrid that will spand most sports cars. That's about it. Plain and simple.

Same thing can be said for the 1969 Z28's, 1970 Chevelles, all the hemi challengers and cudas, the shelby cars and many others, heh? or you guys too young to know?
