Just picked up an M6 convertible. Both cars are very different animals and it depends what you are looking for. The m6 feels a bit heavier then the cls and might handle a bit better, but the cls with the airmatic is a great for everyday driving. I really like the smg compared to the 5 speed thats in my cls. Acceleration is about the same on both cars. The cls is suited better for everyday driving having a much bigger back seat and much bigger gas tank
. They are both great cars.

Tough choice but made much easier if you need a four seater. The rear seats of the M6 are all but useless.
The M6 is slightly louder and more immediate in its sensations. Steering input and feel are much nicer. Paddle shifting is nicer and rev matches on the downshifts. Nav on the M6 is way nicer than the primitive nav on the CLS. Heads up display becomes a necessity after you've had and I don't believe it's available on the CLS.
The CLS will be quieter and more comfortable for daily driving. Both cars are pretty luxurious, but the M6 will seem cheap if you don't get the full leather option.
Looks are very subjective, but more people will like the looks of the CLS.
Both cars are stupid fast. Try to get some extended seat time in each car.

I would like to know what makes 0700700 an expert on the 63 and its inferiority to the 55k. Just seems like straight up jealousy that a guy has to repeatedly hate on the vehicle that made his car the "old" model.

M6 all the way.
I don't care for the look of the M5, but the M6 is very fine. Those wheels are some of the most beautiful ones on the road.
M6 is the top pinacle of the BMW line, CLS is, at best a middle of the MBZ line up, a very beautiful sheetmetal on a E platform. Positioning equivalent of the M6 in a MBZ line up would be a CL65.
V10 vs V8
My choice, M6 all the way.

And besides i bought my car brand NEW 3 weeks ago, and the 63 Amg was only 6000euros more, so that hardly seemed to matter. On top of that i paid more than 115000euro (150000$) for the car, not something youd afford

IMO- Both cars are very comparable in performance. The feel of the two cars is very different. You will feel like you are going faster in the 55 when the kompressor kicks in. You will not be going faster then the 63 but it will feel like it which is a bonus for some. On the other hand, doing 95 mph with just 2500rpm in 7th is a bonus for me on long drives. Also, I like having the newest model and a higher number on the rear. Who doesn't? I'm not stating that there is anything wrong with the 55. To the contrary, it's a great car (which is no longer being produced).

0700700 is just pissed b/c he has the older model. When possible, he will not hesitate to give the 63 a bad review and he has probably never driven one. The green eyed monster a.k.a. Jealousy! Follow his link on his post. He was in the market for a 335i when he decided to get some credit and buy something more "expensive". Just the fact he was considering the 335i shows you what we are dealing with. ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
have a look at that while your at it ... etc etc. For some of the other cars i drive... and yes the 335i, i love

Need we say more- 0700700- you are making our point for us. You claim to have paid $150k US and that others couldn't afford it? You were considering a 335i before you borrowed some one else ***** for a day and decided to buy a real car. What an A-hole! "The 63 tries to immitate the m5", really? I guess we should detune our motors on the 63's to imitate the M5's slow accelaration? Also, you could only get the 55 for 6000 euros less? I know it was new and I'm sure the dealer told you that it was now rare but I cant believe you actualyl feel for that.

From the onset i always wanted a 55, as i said if i had liked the 63, then i would have bought it
And BTW , i knew very well the model was going to be replaced, i really didnt care about that, and the dealer informed me as well... he didnt try to play clever with me

Dude I don't know how things worked on the BMW forum, but here we have some respect for each other, and we try to not talk about how much better our cars are and how much more money we have. And we certainly don't call people idiots. Have some common courtesy.

Listen as i said before, i drove all the cars mentioned here extensively, over 3 days in germany, on unrestricted roads etc etc. I formed my opinion, and share it with other people. I dont expect anyone to buy a $100000+ car without driving it himself.
If i was trying to brag about my car being better, i could have scanned the certificate from AMG performance Studio (the division which deals with bespoke customer's cars) where my car was finished, not at affalterbach, like all the other *standard* AMGs etc. have i done that ? NO
You want to talk about courtesy ?
this is the price list for the Performance Studio's services if you are interested

Hey 0700700 lets see your 55 hit 4.1 0-60 bone stock like trezaei did. You have more torque so you should have no problem, right? Please dont talk about how I cant afford a car being that I wrote a check for a 63 w/ 030 package and I am 25. (That totals $121k out the door here in california, and I can wipe my azz with the other 29k if you like) You can talk about your torque all day long, and every time you mention torque I will mension transmission and brakes. Take your 5 speed and your 8 piston calipers back to 2003 where they belong. I'm not saying that I dont have a lot of respect for the 55k, I'm just saying lay off the 63 bashing and have some class. I know it is hard for you but try.
Good luck on the 3 series, but be careful, it is a lot of car.

In America, if you can't afford to buy a car you lease it. Anyone who finances a depreciating asset is truly living in their own little world, but more power too you. How are the interest rates in Belgium?????

Thats a great rate to get a car loan. I retract my previous statement as now it seems to be irrelevant to your situation. Anyhow, I think we are done here for the time being and lets give the poster of this thread his topic back. 55 or 63, if it says AMG it is a MANS car.

I know each and every AMG is wonderful, and in no way can compare it with anything else... But for me torque is the only word
