63 Ecu...

Sorry, just curious if any of you guys have gone this route either...

Has anyone tried the RennTECH or other ECU for the 63? Site claims 33hp and 25 TQ. Just curious as to whether it is worth it or not. Able to feel any difference? Sponsors feel free to chime in even on your performance testing and any notes. Thanks.

I think most people are waiting for the $/hp cost to come down a bit on that particular ECU upgrade.

I know you didn't mention Powerchip's software but you may want to think about it. They have a 14-day money back guarantee and provide the same gains if not better with a much more reasonable price tag.

My car is coming back from powerchip tomorrow, and My brothers CLS 63 is going in next. I say go with powerchip. All you have to do is read through their testimonials on their website, hundreds of them, and you guys will get the point. Dyno numbers to follow hopefully today or tomorrow.

Thanks for the input bro!~ I'm sure you're going to be more than happy with Powerchip's software when you get your car back. Additionally, I left the Stealth Bulbs in the rear for you. Dyno numbers are on the way as your car is on the dyno right now.

Funny you should chime in, I was on your site the other day and didn't see anything for the 63. Is this new? Spill the beans on the price man. Where are you guys located and how long would you need the car?

I am dying to see the dyno numbers.

If you want to PM me with the price I understand.

Oh and does the price include before and after dyno?

We're still in the process of updating our website and adding all new software developments to the current listing. It looks like the price is going to be $1,490 and we would only need the car for about an hour, 2 hours max. Blue Monster was nice enough to loan us his car as a development car so most of the tuning and development has been completed by now.

Regarding before/after dynos, such is not included in the price. We work hand in hand with many local dyno shops including Evosport and setting you up for a dyno session would be no problem at all.

I will have some dyno graphs shortly.

Anywhere in the Bay Area that I can get the powerchip done on a CLS63. LA is just a bit far to drive, but I am curios to see the results and would love to be the first one on my block with an ECU upgrade.

Most of our tuning is done through the mail. Customers remove their ECU's and send them to our office to be tuned. We have detailed instructions showing removal of the ECU and can email you a return shipping label. If you were to send us your ECU on a Monday we would receive it, tune it, and send it back on Tuesday. You will then receive your ECU on Wednesday fully tuned and ready to pop back in and enjoy.

As the snow falls down here in NY and delayed the grand opening of our local drag strip, I can only dream about it.

ML63 dyno graphs are here!!!!!!! Powerchip has gained some awesome hp/tq and on the 63 motor. Also, notice the dip in power at around 4,500rpms while running stock software. Powerchip flattens out the power band and gains much more hp/tq from 2,500-3,500 rpms.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to get an order in.

Sincerely,

-Aaron

Enjoy...

Powerchip creates a tune for each customer's mods.

Here's what an E55 dyno would look like.
