The above link will take you to the article.
By the time BMW comes out with their proposed 8 series 4-Door coupe (Probably 2009 or 2010 Model perhaps?), it will most likely have a very updated version of the current 4.8 liter V-8 underhood, probably with somewhere over 410 or maybe 420 horsepower as the standard bottom level engine (Isn't bimmer already gonna very soon add direct injection to their V-8, which supposedly will push it to somewhere around the 400 HP mark, give or take a few?). And ofcourse definitely a 600+ horsepower M version to take on any future top-line AMG's (An M8 sounds pretty cool). I'd still rather have an AMG any day though for sure. But competition is great for us consumers, cuz then we always will continue to get better and better cars.
P.S. - By the time the car reaches production, Benz will have again updated their model lineup with even more power and better looks, handling, materials, technology, etc.. But we can probably bet that any future comparison test between a 2011 model M8 and 2011 model CLS 63TT will most likely end in the result of the Benz having better straight line acceleration and torque power, smoother ride, more high-tech gadgets, and better looks, with the BMW offering slightly better handling and slightly more sporty ride. Once again, the Benz will win in the overrall judgement test. Anyone else like to make a prediction. And lets not forget Audi is coming out with their own competitor to this segment, which will supposedly be called the A7 (Then ofcourse we'll get an AWD RS7
).
