05 E55 vs 07 CLS63 : )

05 E55 vs 07 CLS63 : )
So my buddy just bought a real clean '05 E55 w/ 19k miles on it...So he took it by my office this afternoon for some fun : )
1st run, on the highway rolling from about 35, both cars in 2nd - we take off and he pulled about 1/2 car on me - but my 63 had some kind of stutter as soon as I punched it for some reason...We got up to about 90 before traffic.
2nd run, same situation - rolling from 35, I had a good launch this time, and pulled about 1-2 cars on him before hitting traffic again...
3rd run, left the car in Drive - not using paddles, rolling again from about 20, I pulled about 2-3 cars on him this time before having to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting a stopped MetroBus...
Overall - the 63 was faster, both cars bone stock, except I took out my charcoal filters and i have 20" HRE's if it makes any difference...I've driven the E55 and it seems to run strong - so I think it was a fair race...
Not a fan of street racing anymore, but we had to do it...Has anyone else ran the E55?

Sounds like some fun, I would think the E55 would get you down low, then the 63 would shine up top, but in this case it was a little different...congrats on the kill, now go after some vettes.

I also thought the E55 would shine down low,I guess you have a really fast ride on your hands. I have been wanting to try it out with a 63 but I haven't run into any on the road,I live in Kendall not to far from your job maybe we will bump into each other on the road one day

Yo - Drop by if you're in the neighborhood, I'm right across the street from Fuddruckers, you'll see the white beast out front if I'm there. Maybe we'll hit the Palmetto..........It's a good run from Kendall drive to the Miller exit. That's where we ran it : )

thats odd... read another thread yesterday regarding a cls 55/63 on the track, and the 55 beat the 63 all 5 runs. also, arent the e a bit faster than the cls?
not trying to start another 55/63 debate or anything... just curious...
by the way, anyone raced with an m5 yet? a buddy of mine just bought one and i've been pretty anxious for a race.

The driver of the 63 was a Virgin to the track

A better race would be between TWO 030 cars

I took my 63 to Moroso with about 1300 miles on it...Didn't do too well, track was really greasy and I had no traction...I did a monster top fuel burnout though, but only ran 13.4 - don't remember mph. Only ran once.
I don't know why they couldn't do burnouts, I smoke the neighborhood all the time...Just turn off the ESP and power brake a little.
As far as racing an M5, I wouldn't...My wifes cousin's M3 runs 13.1 stock, he stays 1 car behind me whenever and however we race, so I can only imagine the M5.

He bought the M3 used and I think it's possible that it may have some computer work done that he doesn't know about - it's way too fast, and he's 20 years old and drives like an idiot! Anyways - M5's are fast! I have a friend looking into one, if he gets it there will absolutely be some racing going down - with video.

That's what I thought because there is no way his stock M3 is .4 seconds faster than most other m3's,maybe .1 but not .4 but yeah I love m5's but for the price I'll take an E55 or 63, or a used porsche if I want a stick

A 55k is for sure quicker from the ligths than an M5 providing it can get traction. The V10 shines above 100mph though so running one on the highway is a bad idea unless you're in a 65-series.
