Is Mercedes paint really this bad?

I finally had a chance to detail my CLS550 today and notices some spots in the clearcoat, not just on the bumper, but on some of the metal panels as well, very small blemishes- it seriously looks like it has been repainted (I bought it brand new) or that Mercedes did a very sh*tty clearcoat on it. My buddy who has had several benz's said he's not surprised, but if you pay close to $80K for a car, I'd expect a better paintjob...anyone else experience this?

What color is your car?

Sometimes the car does get damaged during transportation, so it is repainted/repaired before delivery. Depending on state law, if the cost is below a certain threshold, the dealer does not have to disclose it.

The paint on the Mercedes, especially since they moved to the "nano" paint, is pretty consistent throughout. It has a slight orange peel look to it, but nothing I would describe as blemishes in the clear coat.

But then again, if you are a stickler for details, you may be seeing things that other people wouldn't notice.
