Well strange things could happen in a street race. Can't speak for the 63 guys but I raced my bro in his M3 and my car bog down a couple of times. Did I loose hell no, once I traction it was over. Now it is hard to belive you got your a** handed to you. Even in comfort mode which makes my car drive like crap I was still neck and neck.

ok hear is what i think, you have been driving the car farily slow b4 this race took place. your ecu was adjusted for slow driving so when u hit the gas its not always best performancce.. sometimes any way.
I bet you were nervous n ur heart was pounding
hehe i know the feeling, so you could have made a few driver errors and thought that a 335 xi was not a threat and took it too likly.
what have u learned?
1. get more practice with the car and get a good feel for it
2. never go easy on other cars because you just might lose because of it
3. i drive a 55 and disabling traction is a nono and can cause death! think its simular in a 63 to no? but not as wild
4. you said u had it in sport mode but i think its due to the slow driving you were doing, which the ecu was adjusting to
5. fairly new car with few miles
hope this helps in some way![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
to the rest, give him a break, he's asking how he can do better and gave a desent discription on what he did
335 xi thats awd and if it was chiped could be leathal at standstil no?
i recall afew posts back on some 335's that were wooping m5s from a dig, weither it was ture i do not know though![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
never underestimate the competition![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
to the poster, reson why every one is calling you out is because stock for stock the 335 should not beat you, but in the real world anything can happen
gl n have fun

Hard to imagine a 335xi beating a 55 or a 63 unless you simply don't know how to drive it. Agree w/ Zod and other who stated that under real live conditions anything can happen. However, consider this from Car & Driver:
"The BMW 335i coupe that goes on sale in September 2006 may look like nothing more than the latest chapter in the 3-series coupe book, but there are some radical changes under the skin. The 335i (the C goes away on this coupe as it did on the 650i for the 2006 model year) will have a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with piezoelectric direct injection. It’s the first gasoline turbocharged BMW in decades. BMW claims the 335i coupe will accelerate from 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds — scarcely more than the outgoing E46 M3. Our acceleration times in BMWs typically are even faster than the company’s claimed times, so an instrumented test time of five seconds flat isn’t out of the question. The 335i will be limited to 150 mph when equipped with an optional sport package." The other road test I read shows a 0-60 time (realize it's not the standing qtr mile, etc) @ 4.8. So, while a 335xi (esp due to AWD) can beat a 55/63, it ain't gonna happen too often or if you know what you are doing.
I owned an RS6 just before my 55, and, apart from the fact that it's a real beast and underestimated at your peril, it's quattro would smoke other cars, including M5's, regularly.

It sounds to me like your wheels were spinning too much and you weren't going anywhere for 1 or 2 seconds, like you said. BMW, on the other hand, got a perfect launch. Remember that 335i is a sub 5-second car to 60 and mid 13's in the 1/4, its not slow by any means. With minor upgrades, it can probably run 12's in the 1/4.
When you launch your car next time, do not press the throttle all the way down, try to modulate so that you get a small only a amount of wheelspin. If you're spinning your wheels too much, you're not going anywhere, so take it easy. Only apply full throttle once you get going and establish traction. Another options is to upgrade your tires. If you're in Russia, you're probably using all-weather tires that are hurting your acceleration. A third possibility is that there is a mechanical problem with your car. If it feels slow, take it to a dyno to make sure it makes 500bhp.

LOL! The 335 is a fast car but is no match for the CLS63. If you spun and lost 1-2 seconds you are going to get beat and is difficult to "reel-in" fast cars (the 335 is very comparable to a M3) if you are playing catch-up.
Learn how to drive your car and don't underestimate anyone.
BTW (this has been said more than once) if the 335 is modded it is a match for a stock 63/blown 55.
Here is a video of an E55 versus a 335:

please post pics of your CLS63 in Russia, and stand infront of the car and hold a sign that says.... "hello MBworld, I lost to a 335xi"
then I'll believe you...
btw: if you loose to a any car.. its not the cars fault.. its the driver.

2010 RRS ; BMW K1200R; 14 E350 ; 14 RRS on order
You can't ask a guy to OWN himself like that bro. That picture would get photoshopped to **** in a RUssian minute.
So maybe the kid lives in RUssia and in London. Speaking of London, I'll be there tomorrow

If you had under 1000 miles on your engine at the time of the race maybe you should consider that your engine hasn't fully been broken in yet?? I wouldn't be mashing on it under 1000 miles. Just me tho

guys, take it easy on him... it's a plausable story. I've beaten some "faster" cars in my 645-- stats go out the window in the real world. I would definately not just "mash" the throttle though, ya gotta find the sweet spot and roll on smoothly,-- even in my '6, if I just mash it with the esp on, it'll cut the power through the 3rd gear shift, and that, according to the g-meter, cuts about 1.5 seconds off my 0-60 and/ or 1/4 mile time......

I drive like a grandma on the street..
once I'm on the freeway I cruise at 75mph and stay loaded just in case somebody would like to stretch the legs.

Serg when you spun your wheels you lost the race right there. Don't listen to some of the haters on this forum they have no clue to what they are talking about.
Here are some timeslips you can look at and basically the time difference between a stock 335i and a CLS 63 is .3 seconds in a quarter mile. So when you spun your wheels you might have lost the race right there
Here is is links to look at 1/4 mile timeslip by a 335i and CLS63
For the CLS 63

You name it i've had it or got it...
i watched the race...he did lose. thing was he was using his remote control cls63 against a real 335. he got the 335 out of the gate but when he hit his top speed of 15 mph he got pulled on then run over. was a sad sight. rip cls63.

Here is a perfect example of comparing two slips that seem close but the CLS run is actually nearly 1 second faster than the 335.
The 335 slip you posted was from SEA LEVEL while the CLS timeslip was from ALTITUDE.
The corrected CLS run was about 1 second faster than the 335 time.
Ok , I have raced this car 10 times and never lost but that little BMW is actually when modded (procede) very quick and could beat a 63 in a street race. head to head it stays about 3-4 cars back and yes it is about .3-.7slower through the 1/4 mile and traps much lower, 5-7 mph

I spoke to a guy with a M5 SMG (good driver) and he told me he ran a 335i Procede and they were just about neck and neck but by about 80 he started to pull hard on him.

modified inline 6 engine with a turbo system will take any AMG 63s easily. those engines make over 500hp to the wheels easily.
try to use your speedshift next time and downshift into 3rd/4th or something then floor it.

you must be speaking of Supras? not the 3L BMW engine.
at the most right now its around 360+RWHP (proceded, dp and exhaust)
Highest trap speed from S. African with Proceded 1.47 DP and DR's was around 112, most are ranging 107 to 110 with 1.47 and exhaust
with the new Proceded V2 and DP's around 400+RWHP and 400+RWTQ...
Intercoolers are now being offered by AA and there is an array of exhaust kits now and ECU piggy backs.
those NEW numbers and less weight would be comparable to a stock 55 or 63. But the secret would be IF they can put the power down.
The 335i is a great car and I'm seriously looking into one. I read the forums everyday. But not quite to the level of v8 AMG's, yet.
