So my car has suffered her first injurys last night...

Anyway I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden a plank falls off a truck and I run it over but I hear a large noise as it happened, I am pissed but I dont think much about it because I think I just ran over it. When I get home I find the bottom of my front end scratched up as well as the lower metal grill pushed it and deformed, as well as the front plastic piece on the bumper out. I was able to somewhat repair the metal and form it back into shape and pop it back in, however the plastic piece will not go in, now it is just dangling on the attached holder. I will likely take it to the dealer and tell them it was defective. The scratched I hope will be able to be buffed out. But to top all this out, the one night I do not park the car in the garage, my cat decides to sleep on the car and there are all these fine scratches on the hood...what a freakin mess, I am so pissed. Oh well, I guess I just need to be less careless, a lesson learned...

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
Ouch!
Sorry to hear that.
I always try to avoid following behind trucks (some situations you can't however). In addition to things falling out of their beds, their tires are real good about throwing out pebbles.

Hope the repairs don't set you back too much.

When at the dealer, ask him to put it on the lift and inspect the underside for damges. Depending on your luck, and if it is a bad as you say, you might want to check the alignment and tires for road hazard damage. All this is covered under your insurance under comprehensive portion. You may only have to pay the deductible.

Don't feel bad. Something similar happended to me. At about 70 MPH a driver along side of me made a lane change into my path. I swevered onto the paved shoulder and onto a drainage ditch. All the while my wife was going nuts and told her don't worry, the MB can take it. It did. After I stopped I noticed that the plastic trim on the side under the doors split at the rear tire. Better the plastic trim, then to lose control and hit the wall!
These cars are made to survive.

I'm sorry to hear about your incident. When my SL55 was less than a week old I came up behind a landscape truck and you guessed it.......a pile of crap fell of the back and I hit it.

Fortunately the clear bra I had helped avoid any paint issues, the only problem was the center mesh, trapazoidal grill was finished....~$200 and 20 minutes and it was back to normal.

Good luck!

Sorry to hear that, but good thing was the plank didn't smash your car window! Good luck in the repairs!
