Unhappy AMG Engine clinking sound???

Engine idling clinking sound??? Sound like the belt area...anyone else have this sound? Seems to become louder after driving for a bit...Don't want to say it is a problem...but I am going to stop in at the dealership to have them look at this...

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
There's a clicking-type sound when you first start the car, but I believe it's the pump for the air shocks.
You say it's louder after driving a bit...do you mean during driving or at idle? Does the clicking noise ever go away?

You hear it while the car is idling...almost possitive it is the belt area...maybe not lubricated enough...?

I have a silight "knocking" sound when I first start the car in the morning (cold). It goes away after the car has warmed up. I was thinking it was simply a matter of the oil circulating up to the lifters or something.

I also have a slight clicking sound. so I brought the car in for service. SA checked it and gave me thumbs up. told me not to worry about it.

There is a TSB for ticking engines.. Something about replacing timing chain component..

Do a search here and you will find it.

As I have posted before...I run my car hard most of the time...I took the car to the dealership who hired a guy from Germany...to work especially on the AMGs. He told me that the AMGs were similar to the Porsches in the oil consumption department. They eat oil if your ride them hard. I was low on oil...the engine showed a safe level...never got the oil message...but the AMG engine likes to have its oil on the full-side he said.
