More Horsepower!!!!! Through Star Diagnostics Programming
Ok, you know how the CLS55,E55,SL55,S55,CL55 etc all have the same exact engine. Now my question is why does the S55 and the SL55 have 496 Horsepower as appose to the E55 and CLS55 with only 469 Horsepower. Would it be possible to put the same programming as the SL55 & S55 on an E55 or CLS55. If so that would be awesome and if not there should be no reason why. It's the same exact engine just different computer program file with probably just more boost and A/F mixture. But, let me know what you guys think. It sounds good.

Even though the E55/CLS55 are rated at 469 hp, they actually produce 500 hp to the crank. YES, they produce same hp as the SL55/CL55/S55. This is just a marketing gimmick from Mercedes. I've personally looked at over 30 dyno sheets of E55s (at a reputable performance shop) and found that the E55 seemed to average around 410 hp at the wheels, which is about 495 hp at the crank. Some stock E55s even dynoed as high as 430 hp to the wheels, but on average, they have the same dyno numbers as the SL55/CL55.

I have driven all of these cars and I believe that they rated the 469 and 493 mainly for marketing purposes. Either way, I love to set up the 55K engines!
