Removing Resonators

I'm not that mechanically inclined, but I can manage most things. Has anyone (Kevin) got a DYI with pics, I'm a visual learner

Just take it to a high quality mufler shop. They will do a much better job than you can and it won't cost you much $

dude

it's miami you know how hard it is to find a good quality shop, most see the mercedes star and automatically charge an arm and a leg. I guess it's time to start looking for one.

Everytime I try a DIY I end up taking it somewhere

Clos, let me know what you find out, I'm dying to take mine off, but scared because there aren't any reputable muffler shops in Miami...

I have the car in the shop now, I had a couple of incidents that left me with damage. Just had new pads put in, now I have to deal with 3k worth of body repair plus 4 new tires, alignment detail cleaning etc. So i'm looking to save money on things. I have a friend that works at Bill Ussery, going to see if he can get me someone to do it on the side. I will post updates.

I'm basically ending up with a brand new car when im done, even having the stock rims redone, too much curb rash. This is why I had considered getting rid of the beast. I haven't driven her in a month and I can't stop thinking about her even the wife is jealous

I had my resonators removed at Miami Mufflers (10530 SW 185th Ter Cutler Bay, FL 33157 (305) 255-7704).. They did a good job on my car quick and cheap, replaced them with straight pipes. I removed them about 8 months ago and I had a chance to look under the car a few days back and everything looked in great condition.

What are resonators? Where exactly are they? What do they do and what is the advantage of taking them off? Sorry I am the regular dumbass on this board...

It'll make the engine sound a little louder sort of like a nice aftermarket muffler without the insane price tag. There's actually no significant advantage per se.
