I just keep the phone in my shirt pocket .. It paired with my iPhone directory no problem ..

I got an iPod adaptor from Apple and it plugs into the auxiliary port in my glove box .. Haven't tried it yet!

Talk to your Service Advisors at Mercedes to hear what they have to say,

Best,

Ipod kit can be installed by any dealer around $800 for kit and installation.

Clarification. My car came with the Ipod kit already installed and the Iphone doesn't work with it. It also seems that the Ipod kit took over the Aux input in the glove as it doesn't work either.

Am I screwed?

So are you trying to use the plug for your Ipod in the car, with your Iphone?
Yes the AUX is used by the ipod kit, if you want to have better sound, and have the jack work, you have to do this.

I know, but how??? If the IPhone isn't capatable with the Ipod kit already installed, do I just have to rip it out in order to use the Aux input like I did on my old CLS500?
Which also means I can't use the command center to control.

I was thinking just to suck it up and to buy Ipod just for the car.

No wonder Apple's stock went through the roof today....

Call your Service Advisor or your Service Manager at your Mercedes dealership.
Glad I bought Apple stock at $60.

I have a 2007 E63 with a factory installed iPod kit. I too have an iPhone and it syncs seemlessly with bluetooth for phone, including full phonebook download (much smoother then my Treo 700wx). In addition, if I plug my iPhone into the factory iPod kit my phone provides some sort of warning that it is incompatiable and asks if I want to switch to airplane mode and I select "No." I can then proceed to listen to music like an iPod, utilizing the steering wheel controls to change tracks. But even better, when I make or receive calls from my iPhone the song pauses and picks up after I end the call. I know that my iPod did not pause when I got on a call.

I don't think there were significant changes between 07 and 08?

I don't think it should matter but I also did the "Kevin iPod sound volume improvement mod." Now I have the best of all worlds, iPhone, bluetooth wireless, full phonebook access, iPod functionality, built in car adaptor to charge iPhone/iPod and the louder enhanced volume!

If you do a search you can find a lot of threads on Sprint Booster, but in a nutshell it makes your car "feel" faster by increasing throttle response. I think it is agreed by all that have tried it, that it really does make your car "feel" faster.
