Need to replace my rear tires.

Need to replace my rear tires.
OEM were Pzero Rosso 285/30/19 (I think)
Not particularly happy with the treadwear, great tire overall however.
1. Do I have to match brands rear to front?
2. What's a good touring tire with good treadlife/wet traction/cornering etc.
Thanks.

I was in the same situation yesterday, needed to replace all tires, however replacing all tires is approx $1200. so i decided it was time to purchase some 20" rims and tires. there's alot of good deals out there, PM me for more info.

To answer...
After much debate and back and forth with Tirerack, Butler Tire, etc. I got the Michelin Pilot A/S on my CLS. They have the longest treadwear rating, 400. The others such as the PS/2's and the Pirelli Rosso's did not seem to the wear I wanted. I have about 2K on the tires so far and counting. No wear I can tell yet.
The price on those was $1380 out the door. Discount tire had a sale and rebate, knocked off about $80 altogether. Since a shop was located near me, I had them to order them and then went over to have them mounted and balanced. A BIG benefit also, Discount Tire offers free replacement of tires if unrepairable. No pro-rated mess from them. Might be worth checking into.
