service recommendation change while car at dealer?

I just got my CLS55 back from the dealer, where it was having some bodywork and minor mechanical work done after a relatively minor accident. When the vehicle went in, it was calling for service B in approx 1000 miles. Now (about 30 days later) it's asking for service D in 11 days.

Should I be concerned about this? I'm wondering if additional service items were caused by the dealer or the accident, in which case my insurance should be covering the items that bring the time estimate from 2 to 4.

edit to add -- now the vehicle is asking for items 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 20. I am not sure what it wanted before the vehicle went in. Nor am I sure what these codes mean (the list posted for the W211 doesn't even show codes above 14). The vehicle has 18842 miles on it now.

Thanks in advance for any input!

My car has 23,000 miles on it and has asked for service once at 10,000. I changed her oil 4 times so far, So I dont think its normal for a service D at 18k

Does anyone else have any input or any idea what those codes are? Do the CLS codes really match up with the E codes? And if so, what is 20?!?

Mine has 16k and it wants "Service D" next week. My service advisor said D didn't mean anything and that it just asks in random order.

Ditto w/ mine at 15K miles. Svc code D. My dealer said just bring it in and they can do an oil change and top all liquids and check car for $260. So, basically an oil change (in nothing else wrong) for that price. Go figure>>:ni x:

Thanks for the info, guys -- I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing service D this early on. I am still wondering what caused the change in recommendation from B to D...maybe I'll be able to figure that out when I bring it in for service, to another dealership that I trust a great deal more.

The computer in these cars has different types of serivces depending on many items like break wear time since last service and miles since last service. My guess is that it changed to a D service because it was sitting so long. It did not cover more miles but it counts the days and the days will require servicing at some point. The letter of the service really means very little. An A service is just an oil change and a B service is an oil change with a bunch of inspections. The B service could trigger a set of whipper blades, a cabin filter, and depending on the cars age it could get a coolant and or brake flush.

My grandfather has an E350 with 4k miles and his car asked for a D service a month ago (at one year). It hit D status because it had not met the miles required for an oil change but it had been a year already so it needed to get a service done.

That D service is just going to be an oil change and some inspections. 300 bucks or less. I normally say coolant ever 2 years, brake fluid every 2 years and then you need to worry about tranny fluid at 30-50k, diff fluid at 30-50k, fuel filter at about 50k, power steering fluid at 2-4 years. ETC.

These A-H services are just codes for what the tech should check or replace that is all.

Then accident had nothing to do with the change in service type.
