yup. i removed my resonator, and it makes a night and day different, most people think that i have aftermarket exhaust.. it sounds like a muscle car.

it should only cost you approx $60 to remove the resonator and replace with pipping, any exhaust place can do it.

also check out this thread. it was my cls vs one of my client 335i and My business partner M5. you can sort of hear my exhaust without resonator.

Yea the resonator is a cheap mode and makes a nice sound difference. Heres a vid of me at Moroso, you can hear the exhaust pretty good here.

HAHA! I thought the motorcycle that was taking off when the video started was your car doing the burnout! Sounds good, man! I might just have to yank mine off!

Just keep the resonator, (like me) and put it back on if someone wants it back one day.

Just curious, does MB have any issue with you removing the resonators with repsect to warranty, etc...? Just curious, considering the same mod on my CLK...

I doubt they will warranty the resonators after that, but you should be fine otherwise!

I actually heard my buddy's CLS55 without resonators this weekend. Sounds great! It wasn't too loud at all, but it did make it sound much more aggressive! I could barely tell a difference inside the car.

you really cant tell the different from the inside, but from the outside, downshift your gear, you will hear a big different.

for those of you who did the resonator delete, how much did u pay? i see u paid 60 bucks newguycls55, great price. i got a couple quotes today. very ugly. midas quoted me 400 bucks and another place 200.
also is it better to replace the resonator with straight pipes or X-pipes?
well im going to keep looking for a better quote to get this done.

if anyone knows a good shop in vancouver, bc area or even the seattle, wa area please let me know.

not sure why the pricing in vancouver is so much higher, down here is very typical to find pricing around $60 to $100 max. all they are doing is cutting the current pipes on both end, and replacing with 2 new pipes (approx 2 feet each pipe) and total of 4 welding.... and i suggest going with straight pipe instead of x pipe.
$200 to $400 sounds way too high.... i suggest going to a small exhaust shop, they will be more resonable.
goog luck

most of the money on the work estimate was labor!
ill keep looking around. funny thing is they said they can install my renntech headers for under 400. i bet thats much harder to do lol

thanks for the advice. ill go with a straight pipe. why is it better than the xpipe? just wondering what the pros and cons of each are.

Guy in the original video drives like a dick. Sorry to be off topic, but thought I'd throw it out there.
