C219 CLS55 and CLS63, 2004-2010

Simple Inquiry -

What could I look to be paying for a used CLS55 AMG? I know it depends on the miles but how many miles are safe for this kind of car dependent on year. I've seen a 2006 CLS55 AMG with 26K for 59K. There was also a 2006 CLS55 AMG with 18K for 60K but that been in an accident, according to carfax report.

Any help would be appreciated, looking for summer time to get a new car.

With this car its about Warranty so simply find one , pull the service records, carfax. Look for cars with 100k warranty. Check the rear tires, and look for upgraded pump. Ther is not alot of CLS 55's, Id say 50-65k , just one year of production?

I found one but it had been in two accidents.

Not too many cls55's on the planet about 2700 made in 2006. Definately want to find one with low miles. Make sure recalls (drip rails) were done before you take delivery. i'd speculate if it was a daily driver car you expect 28+ by now, and anything less would suggest either a weekend car or possibly in an accident. I dont trust carfax all that much, only because when i was shopping for my qx56, i told them some of the cars had on the dealer lot had body work done to them. Then the manager explained they could not sell a car that was in an accident etc... So they brought out their Paint meter, Oh Fun.
He said anywhere between 9-12 would be factory paint. So we ran around the car and it was all 9-12, so i put it on the hood and bingo 17. He took it off the lot and off to the auction. Mind you the carfax was clean. The carfax if available will tell you service intervals, inspection mileage etc. that's all helpful when determining how many miles was put on since the first sale of the vehicle. I used to work for a body shop and i always have the owner help me check out all the potential cars looking for body work. Dont trust any salesmen and their tales of woe. Grandma's dont buy amg's.
