Resonator Delete

Are there any advantages/Disadvantages to deleting the resonator besides the sounds on the 55?

Since we got this topic going.. I currently have my resonator deleted and the car sounds more aggressive when I take off, however I am looking for a louder set up.

Would anyone suggest going straight pipe without muffler? directly from the Cat straight to the AMG tips without muffler?

or

putting my resonator back on and going stright pipe to the AMG tips without muffler?

What are the Pros and Cons of removing the Muffler? or should I go with a Exhaust set up?

please advise... thanks..

I actually spoke to the owner of a high end boutique custom shop that specializes in tuning BMW/Audi/Porsche/mercedes last week. He said to increase the aggressive sound, I should look at installing new stainless steel Renntech or Kleemann headers. I already deleted my reso and installed straight pipes and it seems loud enough for me. He gave me his opinion and talked me out of installing the Renntech race mufflers. You might want to look into it.

I guess it all depends on where you live. I paid roughly $200.00 at a local Maaco.

Did you also deleted the Muffler also? or just the resonator?

I just deleted the resonator and installed straights, just like you did. For me, it sounds pretty aggressive when you mash on the accelerator. I also like the fact that it doesn't drone at idle or cruising speed. I'm forgoing the Renntech mufflers and will probably go with Renntech or Kleemann SS headers but, I'm not sure yet.

i agree- i called the local tint shop to get an estimate for my car. it sounded really high. so- i called back a little bit later and asked for a quote for the same tint, but on a honda accord. for some odd reason- it was $150 cheaper

You know what's shady? When I first went into Maaco, they told me it would be about 120.00. Then I take him out to the car and he says "oh, these are a little more difficult and it will actually be about 250.00". I said "WHAT?- you're crazy". Anyways, make a long story short, I settled roughly 200.00. Damn Rip-Off.

is common. different car, different amount of material. and also they will be more careful and more detailed.. in my opinion.
