problem with headlight, please advise

Very strange today... Started my car at night, pulling out and realized that my left headlight is purple color and not white ????? so i got out and see a major difference between my right side and left side... it just happens out of no where.... so i turn the light off, and waited.... turn the lights on, normal at first, than lleft headlight quickly turns purple again.... do anyone know what cause this awkward color change out of a sudden???

please advise...

I don't know too much about it, but it could be the ballast. I would bring it to your local MB dealer and have them check it out.

$190 for a bulb?! Was it $30 for the bulb and $160 for labor?

Hey uhh stupid question...how do you actually get the headlight units out to replace the bulbs yourself?? The manual shows how to replace the bulbs but not how to get the unit out to do so... I know I'm a noob..only had my cls55 a few weeks...

holy smokes thats a little area!!!

What did you pay the dealer? that area to get the bulbs in is TIIIIINNNNY....I managed to get the H7 out, but getting the parking light out is a biznatch.....I cant even get a good enough grip to pull it out! Do you need to twist the parking light too or is the thing just CRAZY tight. Do germans really have hands this small and dextrous?? I am totally toying with the idea of pulling th whole unit out...has anyone done that?
