2007 CLS 63 Transmission function
Is the 7 speed transmission in the CLS63 a dual clutch trans.?
I have always favored old manual gear boxes over autos or SMG's. However, MB does not offer a clutch in a CLS. My main dislike for factory automatic transmissions stems from my racing background. I have never been in a factory production car that has a true manual valve body. What makes this difficult for description purposes is that very few people have driven a manual valve body. I am not looking for how fast the actual gear change is from x to y gear, but WHEN that shift happens in relationship to driver input at the shifter. I'm looking for the shift to happen the instant I push the button, or pull the paddle, or bump the shifter.
Can anyone give me insight on these two models and their function?

The CLS63 has a 7 speed AMG "speedshift" auto
Neither has a dual clutch, they are both full autos
The 63 has a quicker response time, but it's still no manual
really, these engines have enough toque that it's fin to drive them as an auto, they're still very good on a track. They seem to adapt very quickly to track driving and never pick the wrong gear.
