SIDE MIRRORS: CARBON option nearly complete .. and something more COOL

so, what to do while the car's sitting for audio install and electronic brains to come back home ?

it's a pity as those new LED mirrors had just been installed, painted ... only because the carbon version was still unavailable (no date) at AMG

ok, time to come back to the original intent and have 'em off

I said I would have managed the disassembling by myself
... yesterday evening I finally discovered all necessary tricks for completely disassemble

really not easy, but finally ...

I want to make in Carbon not only the cover, as usual, but the support also

and, btw ... this thing could join the team

just wondering at those black covers between fins ... maybe better to keep them black
.. what do you think ?

ps:

... was forgetting the COOL thing

couldn't resist after having seen it in that CL 12v https://mbworld.org/forums/3012121-post21.html

for sure tomorrow my audio guy will say it steals room to the resonance box construction

Nice work dyno. I'm buying those side view mirrors in a couple of weeks.

just back from my 200miles trip to the installer ..

yes, luky that I gave him the Frigo Bar for installation: the ski-sac hole is about one quarter inch less large than required and he will have to file it a bit.
further, the thing is VERY long .... and this implies to write off the resonance box that he already made.
Positive side is that this cooler is "replaceable" meaning that you can then easily remove and replace with the skisac, in case of need for winter use

if they do 900$ = 700Eur for both it s really a deal
...in the end they costed me 600 eur each, vat included, because mines had to be sent to the paint-shop to make them Iridium Silber .. that is not an available colour for the new mirrors ..

$900 for both, I have given them a lot of business over the years so its fair play.

P.S. Whats is the latest with your rear LED taillights? Did you get them working ok? I would like these also but maybe if you could do a summary of the parts and procedure it would be very useful...

Wheel CAPS

hi guys

can't decide what wheel cap to use on Dymags .. don' tlike a lot having a non-mb logo ..

just received a rare enough original MB star cap that would fit there (61mm)
the AMG one is not an original part and unfortunately the quality is poor..

should look more or less like this

I vote for the original MB star.

Very beautiful wheels BTW.

Do you have the pic of the wheels on the CLS?

me too .. this is the reason why I searched hard for a suitable original cap
.. I just remembered many years ago I had a 380 merc with inserted in the steering wheel something like the first round cap you see in the pic.

sorry, no good image with wheels installed

btw, PZeroCorsa tires are not bad too

you know..Mercedes guys at the dealership told me about the need for the center cap to be the Star..

in any case, Dymag remains written in the rim .. just for ignorants

ps: here they are tpms fitted
and all those interested can see the slight mod required to fit the center hat (required !) and cap

unfortunately can't satisfy your curiosity. I got them at the end of last summer, then I had to install tpms, then tires .. then the car was in for TB install and other things .. summer ended and rain and snow.. the stay here as a piece of art .. till april maybe

me too I'm curious to fully test it but now it is one of those periods when I'm having only difficulties with mods
... last effort !

now I'm debating with the installer how to fit the frogobar because it takes a lot of room, but I WANT IT
then, having it removable, avoid battery low voltage warning because of all accessories attached ..

further, after having taken off all ecu and tcu modules it now shows a lot of errors and have to send it to MB for clearing them all to be able to test new modules
