Performance parts price structure.

Hi Guys

I used to own a 2004 Mustang cobra . As you know the modifications are similar for the CLS55 AMG. Heat exchanger, Pulley ECU flash headers..ect Can you guys help me understand why the the price points for similar mods are significantly more?

For example

Cobra heat exchanger $300
CLS55 heat exchanger $2400

Cobra pulley and tune $689
CLS55 pulley and tune $2400

Cobra Long tube headers/x-pipe $1200
CLS long tube headers/x-pipe $3999

Please note i have already orderd many of the parts mentiopned for my CLS55 im just curious why they are so much more expensive.

Best,

Best,
First of all, every vendor seems to have the MB/BMW/P-Car/etc.. tax. I can't really explain it in a way that is satisfactory to you or me...to them high line cars seems to equate to high line prices.

Depending on the brand offered above you could probably could get better prices either going with another brand or shopping around and looking at other sources other than PP.

This is my thinking as well, low volume= high prices. Its just a little insulting when you're paying a couple 100% to a vendor in profit. Oh well thus is life.
