AMG driving academy

Any thoughts or feedback on this?

I'm thinking of doing it. I understand they've made some improvements over the old AMG challenge events...

I just got the email yesterday about it, still trying to decide for myself, but I doubt I'll do it.

Right on DW! I'm trying to convince a couple other buddies. I wish they had some previous training so we could do the 2 day stage 2 program but alas only I've had the SCCBC drivers training in the past. Hopefully they give some good track time in the SLS!

Don't have a Mercedes right now...
The AMG Challenge was a fun event but this year in Florida they will be using the road course in West Palm Beach International raceway instead of the one in Homestead. I haven't driven the West Palm Beach one since they changed it but I don't think it's as good as Homestead. In addition to that they upped the price to $1800 from $1200 !!!

I was thinking to do it for 1200 but now I have second thoughts.

For what it worth some of the differences from the AMG Challenge events:

Experience greater in-depth instruction, driver development and seat time than offered in the
former AMG Challenge

Enjoy an exclusive dinner reception and introductory briefing the evening before your program

Skip Barber Racing School provides the instruction

06 CLS55 w/ P030, 05 Jag S Type R, 05 TBird-68 Dodge Charger R/T-440 w/4speed I'm original owner
Maybe the price increase is a result of the added costs due to the cars that were crashed at the Challenge last year?

We had a lot of seat time last time I went to the event in 2007 don't know how much more we will get this year.

Do you know if they still have the IWC watch as trophy, I heart that they didn't have it last year.
