Was the M5 under consideration when you purchased your CLS55/63?

Surprisingly sometimes you are wrong! You can upgrade the 08 CLS to the 09 NAV. Retrofit wiring harnesses are available and people have done it.

Aww don't get mad.

I truly think it's hilarious that you're making the deciding factor between two high performance cars the COMAND system that tells you how to get places. (Personally the CLS55 is a car I'd prefer to be lost in) Seriously, why not just get a Lexus? Who's to say you'd know exactly what to do with an AMG after stepping out of a TL-S anyway

Use the IS-F as a stepping stone

Both Beautiful machines, Really Beautiful... Command to me seems very friendly. Never had any experience with idrive but i have heard good things about its updated version...

P.S. Looking at your 2 choices, i have to say you have good taste in cars.... Go test both if you haven't already...

Stop being a ****.

And whats with the backhanded comments about my Acura? When I bought it over 2 years ago, it was a great car for a recent college grad. It was inexpensive to maintain, relatively fast, handled great, and had a bunch of nice features for $10-12K less than the IS350, 335i, or A4.

I said this a couple of times..but benz seriously lags behind the Japanese cars(specifically lexus and acura) when it comes to center console electronics. The 09-10 benz models are MUCH better with the actual hard drive systems, but its like a game of "Catch-up". But like others when buying a performance car, I wouldn't consider that. Keep in mind you can ALWAYS swap-out for stock system for a much better aftermarket system for under a $1000.

Did you just call me a ****? How old are we? I must have struck a nerve.

Grow up...if you handle either of those two cars with that same level of immaturity I fear you wrapping either of them around some type of utility pole or tree while fumbling with your COMAND system/iDrive.

Come on dude, you really are acting like a ****. You're making fun of my current car and my deciding factors in purchasing my next car. We all have our own reasons for buying our cars and of course there are not going to be the same. It's pointless to judge someone else's reasons. In my opinion, neither the M5 or the CLS are bare-to-the-bones all out performance cars, so that's why things that might seem trivial to you like the navi, are important to me. Hopefully, in a couple years, I can buy an all-out performance monster as a weekend toy, but for now I just want a daily driver that has techno-gizmos galore, luxury and high performance.

I like the CLS63. I own one so if I own one it is better then any other car and you should buy one if you want to be cool

It's not about owning a CLS63 or an M5 really i've sat in both of these cars. What i am referring to and what some people are emphasizing is why are you making a decision (or part of your decision) on a command system on a sports sedan? Makes no sense to me still.

Wait, wait, wait..if that were the criteria for this thread then wouldn't you belong somewhere in a V-Tech forum? What's it called? Honda-tech?

Buy the M5.

You understand that what you just said makes no sense because I'm the one asking for advice, not the one giving it, correct?

People like you make me relish my Ivy League education on a daily basis, so thank you.

CLS55 & CL CK60
U asked for opinion so here is mine...

The M5 is obviously a better driving car. The CLS is a prestigious car that is fun to drive.

In my opinion you should look into the CLS55 due to the supercharger and ease of increased power etc.

Im sure this will offend some so i apologize in advance. Whenever i meet a BMW guy they seem to rub me the wrong way and act like a douche bag. They generally come off to me as dorky where MB guys always seem more business minded. just my .02.

Wow..some of you CLS people are jackasses. OP..ignore them.

To everyone else..when you're buying an $85,000 car and you're stuck between two models that offer very similar levels of performance and luxury, things like a ****ty command system CAN and DO make a difference. Maybe this guy travels often and relies on his navigation daily. I've been in cars with terrible systems and trust me it's an annoyance.

Saying things like "go by a Lexus" is extremely retarded. MBs ARE luxury cars first, performance cars second. The CLS is certainly no 911..or even an M5 for that matter.

Act like a douchebag AND dorky? Those are two things that rarely go hand in hand.

(btw i completely disagree)

So anyone that enjoys a sporty car cant be interested in tech toys..thats only reserved for drivers of japanese cars?

I kind of understand your point, however. He should be able to decide which he prefers based on the drive alone..they have quite different personalities.

cls 55 amg
whats up with every thread ending in a fight and immature behaviour ? ppl claiming all other cars but CLS's r crap, how they purchased a car for less money, generalizing something negative about non mercedes car owners, how some other guy's warranty sucks etc etc. every thread seems to have something bitter and acrimonious about it.

So your telling him not to get a BMW because BMW owners are all dorky and act like douche bags? If not, what is your point? I think the OP created this thread to compare two vehicles... not for you to rant...
