CLS
Appears to be a ECU upgrade and maybe headers for an extra 53 hp.

CLS 55 AMG
MKB is one of the best tuning company for Mercedes. I have a CLS 55 AMG and I installed MKB stage 4 package. My car when on Dyno before the mods and register 470HP, after the MKB stage 4 package installed, on dyno it registered 612HP. MKB increases the ignition timing and yet controls the boost by increasing it by 3psi. Every mods in the market changed the pulley to increase the boost, but MKB deleted the secondary throttle body to increase the boost. Too much boost will increase the air intake temp and the ecu will automatically reduce the ignition timing. Per 1 degree reduction in ignition timing, 10HP will be reduced. Maximum boost that MKB car runs is about 10psi. Most big pulley in the market will increase the boost to about 14 to 15 psi or maybe more. Each 1psi increased will also increase the air intake temp by about 5 degree C. Optimum boost should be around 10 psi, so the air intake temp is under control. Anything after that the timing will be retarded, heat is the main killer for horse power. MKB gives you the maximum HP and yet gives you reliability.

What does the "stage 4" MKB package consist of, and if you don't mind me asking, what will it set you back?

... and how smooth your car runs at low regime, having the compressor always engaged, after secondary throttle delete?

My car runs very smooth at low rpm. After deleting the secondary TB you will need the basic CLK DTM ecu software. The CLK DTM also runs with only one TB.

I was on the point of doing that mod (and had even found a dtm cooler) but thought that it could be good for a track car like the dtm but not for a cls.. especially considering that also the slr has a tb by-pass installed ... and that, willing or not, we have to spend a lot of time cruising within 130kph

then, you said RAIL replaced. not injectors ?

also, .. why don't you post a pic showing your TB and headers ..

$50K for about a 30% increase in HP? OUCH!!! I'm sorry, and maybe it's just me, but I can't justify that...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you obtain sub 600 HP figures for a LOT less?

Kleeman has a stage 4 package (minus a tranny and dif) that enables you to push 620 HP. Does anyone know what that runs in terms of price?

As for the tranny and dif upgrade, I have no doubt that this is at least a $10K upgrade, but aside from maybe a dif upgrade (for the performance/traction benefits), I've heard the 55's trannys are near bullet proof, anyone running near a 30% increases in power have any problems with the stock one?

PS: I second the pic request, would love to see your setup!

CLS55 plus a few Ducati's
I agree and realistically wouldn't you just try nitrous for that extra shot every now and again?? Seems hellish expensive...

Sounds like a great kit except for the price.

For $50,000.00 someone could buy a low mileage C63 and turn it into a project car !
