Bent Wheels!?!?!

I replaced my OEM 19 inch wheels this summer with 20 inch wheels. When I had the OEM wheels taken off three of the four were bent. I just noticed this morning that both driver's side 20 inch wheels are bent.

What is going on!?!? Does anyone else have this much trouble. I assure you I am not driving through any war zones. All my driving takes place in the Greater Cincinnati area. Granted there are some bumps here and there, but I don't make a habit of hitting potholes. Any thoughts?

Its the price you pay for going with 20's. There's not alot of rubber to work with with to give way on bumps. Maybe you are keeping the tire pressure too low?

+1 on the tire pressure, I usually keep my 20s at around 42-45psi

40 is the best for low profile......the TPMS will light up under 31 psi..

The problem that you have is that your going with larger wheel and tires. The bigger you go the smaller the tire sidewall is. The sidewall is what absorbs impact from bump in the road, and since your sidewall is so small, the tires can't absorb bumps, transmitting that energy into the wheel. because it to bend. I understand that everyone like 20", but honestly 20" wheels aren't good for a heavy car like a CLS. If you must run a 20" wheel and tire combination, get tires with a taller side wall like 40 series.

If you got a taller profile, you will definately throw off the speedo and probably have rubbing issues
