Keyless No Go
My battery died when I left my glove box open for 36 hours. No big deal. I jump started the car and the battery fully charged after 20 minutes of driving. All is well EXCEPT, now when I try to start the car via the Keyless Go I get the message, "Key Not Recognized." What's up with that?
The key still un/locks the doors if I push the button on the remote. The battery was just changed on the key in January. Has anyone else run into this problem and/or does anyone know how I might reset my car for the Keyless Go to start working again?

I had the exact same problem, and the dealership tried reporgramming keys etc, but couldn't get it working again. In the end, they ended up replacing the key (under warranty) and it has worked fine ever since.

I took it to the dealer and they tested everything with no documented problems. In the end they did a "hard reset" of the system and it works fine. Of course that came with a $180 price tag. I could have pulled the fuse and put it back in myself and saved a lot of money and time!!!

Are you sure they just pulled a fuse to do that? I was under the impression that a "hard reset" involved the MB STAR diagnostic system resetting the computers in the car and a "soft reset" was like pulling the fuse or disconnecting the batteries for an extended period. A "soft reset" wouldn't have done much at all to fix that problem.

I'm sure you are correct. But, one other time I had the computer seem to forget all of my settings and the car wouldn't even start. I started checking fuses, pulling one by one. The computer seemed to "re-boot" and everything went back to normal. My gut tells me if I would have done the same thing this time I might have had a similar result.

not recommended but....
I know the system can be "reset" by disconnecting the battery for about 45 minutes. You'll hear a pretty loud "click" and after that you can reconnect the battery and all codes etc are cleared,, but,,,
windows, sunroof basically everything needs to be reset.
