Cracked wheel (Is this Safe)
Ok, so my friend was driving my 63, and hit a pothole. The front passenger wheel had about 3 cracks in it. A guy fixed the rim and guaranteed the wheel for as long as I have the wheel. My question is....Is this safe? Will this wheel hold up doing speeds of 140-150mph? Do I just need to get another set of wheels?
Thanks in advanced!!!

In a car like that, I would prefer getting a new set of wheels. No offense to the wheel shop but the damage to the rim will always be in the back of my mind. That's just my 2 cents.
Good luck!

Depends on the crack and how it was fixed. My understanding is that cracks are usually cut out in a "V" and new material is welded in and formed....making that section the least of your worries.

+1, if its done correctly. It should be good. However there are other aspects to consider. Like, is the wheel still round?

I would not trust my safety on someone's word or workmanship such as the case with a wheel repair shop that can say anything and go out of business tomorrow with nothing to lose.
Our cars cost over $100K. Why pinch pennies when it come to safety? The cost of owing these high performance and high speed cars requires us maintain them in the safest manner as possible. If that means spending anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a couple of thousand dollars (like the 2 piece P030 or 65s factor wheels) to insure performance and safety--so be it. The fact is that the original metalurgy of the wheels will change as the results of the repair process and will never be the same as the factory originals.
Just my $.02.
