The chrome rings cracked around the cupholder and Mercedes only sells the part as a whole. The cupholder assembly is $161 locally and I can usually find it online cheaper but THEY WONT GIVE ME THE PART NUMBER. It's ridiculous, their excuse is "we work off commission so we're not gonna get any $ if we gave you the part #"

Can someone provide me with a cheaper place to get it and/or the part #? Thank you!!!

 

I had the exact same thing happen to mine and they covered it under warranty. I will try to track down the invoice and get you a part number by the weekend if no one else finds it before then.

 

thanks boss... if I was still under the factory warranty I PROMISE i'd have them cover it haha but aftermarket warranty won't cover cosmetics

 

Aren't these dealers idiots.... if they helped you out here on a part they make next to nothing on, the chances of you coming back when you have a big profit problem would be that much greater..... short sighted fools with no business acumen!

 

Mine was replaced under warranty after I brought it in with a laundry list of stuff. Here is my bill:

It lists for $125 and parts.com has it for $86.25 + shipping

the fact they won't give a part number is absurd, and to go further to tell you
it isn't in their interest to do so is even lower brow.......
unbelievable!!!

my parts department always gives me numbers and the figures they charge for them....
and I do not settle for less......

Some one posted up a while back how to just remove the ring and paint it. Way cheaper, and pretty simple to do.

A while back my chrome peeled off on one of the cup holders. The chrome was kind of like a chrome tape. It was covered under warranty and they replaced the entire cup holder. It makes me think you can't just replace the chrome.

No, the dealer does not have the ring only for sale. Even though we have a plater we deal with on a daily basis, plating plastic is quite difficult $$ so I just painted mine black.

This part number 219-680-04-14-9051 the bracket as listed on parts.com is it the whole cup holder and housing that goes into the center trim or just the cup holders that comes out?
