New to site, need suggestions!

Hello everyone! I have an '09 CLS63 which I bought new and want to get some wheels and possibly lower the ride height. I was thinking of putting 20's on, but called around and got in touch with a tuner that specializes in AMG's and told me that was not a good idea. He also told me that I needed to replace almost all the other components for lowering the ride height as well. I was just going to get a lowering module and put some nice 20's on, but now after talking to this guy I'm a little nervous about the whole thing. I want to have an aggressive look but I don't want to ruin the performance of the car. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Um there's nothing to be replaced. I'm lowered via star and I'm running 20s with no issues. Go for it man! The guy you spoke too seems sketchy.

I'm also interested in learning about STAR diagnostic. Is there a website you can point us too about this system that shows were to get it and how to modify? I don't want to spend 1400 for a Renntech lowering module

I'm lowered on lowering links from www.adjustableairride.com and have 20" wheels, I haven't had any issues in the last two years on the CLS.

That's a really affordable solution, did you install them yourself? Is it difficult?

No issues at all. . Some dealerships may be able to lower your car via star. I lowered mine about 25mm.

The STAR system is brilliant for many things, including lowering the car. We sell the OEM units. They aren't cheap, but maybe we can put together a group buy, if enough people want them.

Thanks! In the pics its about 1 inch drop, but now i have it at about a 1.5 inch drop. Wheels are Forgestar F14's (Gunmetal) 20X9 upfront and 20X10.5 rear.
