Unhappy HELP!! NEED PULLEYS FOR MY 2006 CLS55 AMG!!

Hi everyone! I need to replace the belt tensioner pulley and idle tensioner on my CLS55AMG enigne and was wondering where I can buy these parts at a good discount. I tried Ebay but they only have them for the E55 AMG and other models. I think the E55 has the same engine as the CLS so would those parts work? any other models with the same engine I could use those pulleys from?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you in advance,
Mario Ojeda

Listen to me very carefully. Don't you change the pulley on this car. Even if you know what you are doing. The risk is too great and costly if that pulley comes off the crank! Stay with stock pulley please.

Trust me...I know the pain when this happens.

Thank you bud but I'm not changing it myself!! I'm just getting the parts to have my certified mechanic do it. I found to German made pulleys which were much less expensive than the dealer's parts. I saved about $400 on the parts alone!! I found them at www.car-stuff.com. Thanks!

The pulleys that Mario is looking for is not the crank pulley to increase power, he is looking for the supercharger tensioner pulley and the idler pulley. Both are very easy to replace, or a shop will charge roughly an hour or so to install.

Hi James and thank you for commenting. I actually bought the incorrect parts because the customer service morons who answer the calls at Car-Stuff.com don't know anything about the CLS55 AMG engine. I do need the supercharger tensioner pulley and the idler pulley. I think the supercharger pulley is smooth but looks like it is a double wheel and the idler tensioner has ridges for the belt, right? I think that one is also double wheeled right?? They are both for the serpentine belt. The reason I'm having them changed is because when I tunr the car on they are making noise and a whizzing sound. My mechanic told me it is because the bearings have worn down and that these pulleys need to be replaced. If you could please tell me where I can get these parts at a reasonable price I would sincerely appreciate it! I also see you work with Kleeman and Renntech ECUs. What do you suggest I should do to my CLS55 to increase horsepower. Mine is stock so produces 469HP, I'd like to get 500HP if I could. Any advise and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time.
Best regards,
Mario Ojeda

Hello Mario. I think the parts you are looking for are: Upper Idler Pulley- 272 202 08 19 and the Lower Idler Pulley- 272 202 07 19. The parts are listed by Mercedes as $39.50 and $46.00 respectively. I would get them from your nearest Mercedes Parts Department only because $86.00 does not seem too expensive. The non-OEM parts I have found to replace these are $55.00 each and do not even look the same. $86.00 seems like a reasonable price for the correct parts to me.

Truth be told, I am looking to replace mine as well so you'll have to let me know how your job goes. Best of luck!

the pulley on the top right is the supercharger tensioner pulley...

the pulley directly to the left are the two idler pulleys, one for the front supercharger belt, and one for the rear accessories belt.

let me know which ones you need, we have them all in stock.

Can you send me a PM with a quote for all three pulleys? Also for the supercharger belt?

I have an OEM Mercedes Supercharger pulley for my CLS55 that I used for only 500 miles (swapped for Eurocharged pulley) that I would let go for cheap.

I'd stick with the stealer ship. But call several because price markup differences some (like mine) offer a discount. I price all my parts and if the dealer is within 10 or 15% I go with the OEM. Besides pulleys are an aggravating experience because of location and access and you only want to do them once.
