Anyone had their 2009 CLS 63 AMG tuned by ECU Tuning Group??

So, from that I understand, the ECU tuning will adjust the shift points and optimize the shifting, remove the speed limiter, raise rpms resulting in increased power, sensitive throttle response, and smooth acceleration with no flat spots or hesitation.

1) Is this correct?
2) If so, is it hardwired somehow to prevent the tranny from regressing to the way it was, in terms of adapatations? What I mean by that is if you get it tuned and from time to time drive it "softly", will it adapt and go back to "hog mode"? If this is the case, what is the point of tuning it, since it can regress?
3) Would appreciate anyone's overall thoughts/opinion of ECU tuning.
4) Are there any alternative ways to tune by other companies? If so, are they better or worse than ECU Tuning?

Thanks.
