2005 CLS55- what problems to look for?
So I'm looking at adding a 2005/2006 cls55 to my stable as a daily driver.
I know so far that they aren't the most reliable of cars, the cars I am looking at are out of warranty and the merc tier 1 warranty would cost an extra 4-5k per year so i would most likely just keep a fund for repairs.
I know about airmatic issues but i'd like some more detail on the issues;
What do i test/look out for in terms of checking suspension?
Any noises in particular to hear out for?
A friend of mine owns a 2003 sl55 and he has never had it serviced in 3 years and it makes a load of rough noises but engine/car still runs fine. From that I take that these cars are solid in terms of engine/gearbox but just got to look out for electrical faults which really don't take away from the end product of driving fast?
How many hours of labour to replace each airmatic shock in full (if the worst happens and it breaks)?
Do the cls55's have the same dual battery setup as the sl55 as i know that causes plenty of problems regarding the car not starting.

I have a feeling nobody actually knows much about airmatic and its issues.
Can't seem to find any solid information on the topic anywhere online.
Surely there must be people on here who have had their airmatic fail and can provide an insight into what to look out for?
